She encouraged the students present to shout the words “I finally did it”, a re-affirmation that they were being recognized and awarded for their hard work.

Rector and President Fr. Ernesto M. Arceo shared his inspirational message about God’s grace of bestowing numerous talents to the students and by that they should be recognized, awarded, and congratulated. The rector ended his message by reminding the students should not forget to thank God, their parents, the country, and the people who supported them for without their guidance and support the students would not be successful.

Noel E. Rosal, Legazpi city mayor, graced the event to confer awards to the students whose family members are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in other countries. According to Rosal, Legazpi is now in the forefront of migration development. The city mayor briefly discussed the Social Action Center, a triangulation program wherein the church, Aquinas University and other educational institutions help the local government collect data about OFWs and their families in Legazpi.

Afterwards, the awarding of certificates and medals commenced. There were a total of 133 student awardees for this year's recognition rites.
