AUL co-hosts Mental Wellness in the Digital Age Forum

Aquinas University of Legazpi (AUL) in collaboration with the Natasha Goulburn Foundation (NGF), the Local Government Unit of Legazpi City, Department of Education (DepEd), and partner schools, Divine Word College of Legazpi and Bicol University, co-hosted the HOPELINE 2017 Campus Caravan on Sep. 11-12, 2017 at the Daragang Magayon Hall (DMH) and the AUL Dome.

With the theme “Mental Wellness in the Digital Age Forum”, the caravan aimed to shed light in their advocacy of bringing depression and other mental illnesses to the forefront. Simultaneous sessions were conducted to the students, parents, teachers, and guidance counselors.

Meanwhile, teachers and guidance counselors underwent resiliency enhancement training entitled “Your Strength as the Centrepiece”. It is also a two-day training program which aimed to enhance their resiliency in coping with their personal problems. Aside from that, the activity trained teachers and guidance counselors on how they would be handling students with academic, familial, emotional, social, and personal concerns. Consequently, the program established a Peer Facilitators Program that would serve as a support group in advocating mental health in schools and in the community.
