Stop the killings, Start the healing

Diocese of Legazpi emphasizes value of human life

Despite the rain, students, employees, and administrators of schools under the Catholic Educational Association of Legazpi (CEAL) braved the streets of Legazpi City to condemn the killings and violence attributed to the campaign against illegal drugs.

University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi (UST-Legazpi), an institution that values the gift of life, supported the prayer rally organized by the Diocese of Legazpi on Oct. 12, 2017, to express its advocacy for life. The Office of Religious Affairs (ORA), the Knights of Columbus, employees, and some 200 Grade 10 students gathered at Divine Word College of Legazpi North Campus and proceeded to St. Gregory the Great Cathedral.

In an Inquirer article, Father Rex Arjona, executive director of the Social Action Center and spokesperson for the Diocese of Legazpi, stated that they would like to awaken the people’s mind to the shared responsibility of stopping the violence and starting the healing process.
