Senior High School conducts 1st graduation ceremonies

The Senior High School Department of the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi (UST-Legazpi) held its 1st graduation ceremonies on April 5, 2018, at the UST-Legazpi Dome.

A total of 399 students comprises the pioneer Senior High School graduating batch.

The commencement exercises started at 2:00 pm with the entrance of colors. The following parts followed: Philippine National Anthem, UST-Legazpi Prayer led by Justine Ann P. Amante (Academic Excellence Awardee, With High Honors), Vision and Mission Statement led by Camille Kimberly A. Aycardo (Academic Excellence Awardee, With High Honors), and the Pledge of Loyalty delivered by John Joshua T. Lositaño (Awardee, CEAL Leadership Award). Errol John E. Suarez (Loyalty Awardee, St. Raymund de Peñafort Awardee, St. Albert the Great Awardee, St. Thomas Aquinas Awardee, Rector and President’s Awardee for Co-Curricular Excellence and Academic Excellence, Special Talent Award in English Language, Mathematician of the Year, Academic Excellence Awardee [STEM PLUS], Special Recognition in Campus Journalism, With High Honors) delivered the Address of Thanks where he cited that aside from the awards he received, he is thankful for the bonds forged and friends he encountered during his senior high school journey. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude to the teachers and staff for the guidance given during his stay in the university and to his parents for raising him to become what he is now. All in all, he encouraged his fellow graduates to use their experiences to become the best of the best.

After the speeches, the parents donned the garbs to graduates then the High School Department Principal Maria Christi B. Muñoz, MAEd, presented the candidates for graduation. The Rector and President Rev. Fr. Ernesto M. Arceo, O.P., STL, Ph.D., delivered his message. The distribution of diplomas, awarding of certificate and medals, and the induction of graduates as members of the alumni association completed the graduation ceremonies.
