UST-Legazpi holds Grand Alumni Homecoming 2018

The Office of Media, Alumni, and Public Affairs in coordination with the Science Oriented High School (SOHS) Batch 1978 organized the annual grand alumni homecoming on May 12, 2018, at the UST-Legazpi Dome.

The Grand Alumni Homecoming 2018 “Serving the Truth with Gratitude” started with a grand Eucharistic celebration that was presided by the Rector and President Rev. Fr. Ernesto M. Arceo, OP, STL, PhD. The Synchronized Departmental Alumni Organization Election followed. Elected departmental representatives proceeded to the St. John Macias Hall for the General Alumni Association (GAA) Election.

Five hundred sixteen participants (Basic Education – 316; Tertiary, Graduate School, College of Law – 131; UST-Legazpi employees – 52; guests – 3; teachers and mentors – 14) were present in the grand reunion. Rev. Fr. Arceo delivered the welcome message and former SOHS Principal and University Rector and President Rev. Fr. Orlando Aceron, OP, shared his inspirational message. Afterward, Rev. Fr. Aceron and the teachers of Batch ’78 were awarded with a plaque of appreciation. The golden and silver jubilarians, as well as the oldest and youngest batch, were recognized.

The GAA Outgoing President Engr. Rosy Cantara, PhD presented the accomplishment report, then the induction of the newly elected officers of the GAA commenced. After, Engr. Dennis Aranaz, the incoming president, delivered his message. The bequeathal of key of responsibility and acknowledgments concluded the alumni homecoming.
