AQUI students excel in Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Math challenge

Students of Aquinas University of Legazpi Science High School, Elementary and Pre-School excelled in the 2012 Division Metrobank-MTAP-DepEd Regional Math Challenge elimination rounds held on separate dates in January and February this year.

Frances Nikki Amurao will be the Legazpi City Division representative in the Individual Category of the regional round of the said contest, after being the top scorer in the elimination round for fourth year students. The regional contest is slated March 16, 2012 at the Regional Education Learning Center in Legazpi City.

Amurao and fellow Science High School student Nathaniel Tan (coached by Mr. Ruben Cenita) were also the top scorers in the Team Competition in the Preliminaries of the Challenge.

Gerelyn Shane Rosal (coached by Mr. Gilbert Pasiona) got the First Honors (with scores of 45 and more) in the competition for third year students.

Michaela Uy (coached by Mr. Gilbert Pasiona) garnered Second Honors in the third year category, and Alexandra Apuya and Nicole Picart (coached by Mr. Jumar Bona),in the second year category. The first year category top slots were all filled in by SHS freshmen Ruzzell Jiggs Caraig, Ralph Lacuna, and Kate Louie Aviso (coached by Mr. Gener Colico).

Amurao and Tan obtained Third Honors in the fourth year category; Kayla Jerlin Del Villar (coached by Mr. Jumar Bona) in the second year category; and Edward Nathaniel Amurao in the elementary category.

Aquinas University of Legazpi swept the gold medals from first to fourth year categories in the Team Oral Competitions Secondary Level, while Edward Nathaniel Amurao (coached by Mr. Nilo Nosotros) garnered bronze in the elementary category.

Aquinas University of Legazpi Integrated School (AQUI) is headed by its Principal Maria Christi Muñoz. The Pre-School and Elementary Coordinator is Mrs. Leonidia Salalima.
