Anak TV partners with University for Sinebata media fest
Anak TV has linked up with the University for the implementation of the 2012 Sinebata: Kabataang Pinoy Media Festival, which is currently in search of entries. As a partner, the University serves as a regional drop off hub of entries from Bicol.
The photo and video media festival is open to all Filipino youth, studying or working in any Philippine province, town or city. There are two categories: 9 to 18 and 18 to 23. No entrant should have reached aged 24 by May 31, 2012 in order to qualify. Out of school youth will be given equal opportunity.
There are no restrictions in the themes but the contest is seeking works that define the Filipino youth’s view of issues that affect him, his family, his school, and his community in general. They can be about family, education, environment, substance abuse, teenage life and problems, career plans and ambitions, hopes for the future, community issues and others.
For video entries, categories include short video clips (10 to 30 seconds); public service announcements or social messages (30 seconds to two minutes); creatively packaged music videos using originally composed or commercially available music (up to seven minutes only); and mini-documentaries and social commentaries (10 minutes to one hour). The entrants may use any camera (hand held video, handicams, digital cameras, camera-equipped mobile phones, etc).
The entry should be in CD or DVD, one per entry (mpeg, avi, and mv formats), properly labeled, indicating title, category and total running time. The CD/DVD should be accompanied by a page containing the producer’s/director’s name, complete mailing address, phone numbers, birth date, school, and organization or town affiliation. The participant is also expected to write a short description of the entry, and where possible, brief production notes. If the entry was completed by a team, their names and roles in production should be listed.
Still photo entries may be in color or black and white. Each photographer may enter up to 10 photos. The minimum image size is 5 megapixels (equivalent to A4 size if printed). Photo submissions must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org, each one properly titled in any language. If the entrant uses a dialect or local language, he/she must provide an English translation.
The entries should be accompanied by a page containing the photographer’s name, complete mailing address, email, and contact numbers; birth date, school, and organization or town affiliation. The type of camera used should also be indicated (eg, digicam, mobile phone with camera, etc).
Video entries from Bicol may be submitted to Aquinas University of Legazpi Office of External Affairs (OEA), Rawis, Legazpi City. For other concerns, contact OEA at (052) 482 0540.
Deadline for submission is April 30, 2012.
