New names of AUL buildings announced

The Office of the Secretary-General released this month General Bulletin No. 1 s. 2012 announcing new names for some University buildings and other developments. Below are parts of the said bulletin:

New building names

After a long search, the University adopted St. Albert the Great Building as the official name of the new High School edifice. Consequently, the building formerly referred to by the aforementioned name is henceforth to be called St. Martin de Porres Building. It houses the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education.

St. Albertus Magnus is the patron saint of scientists. As such, he was also adopted as the patron saint of the Science-Oriented High School, and later, the Science High School. St. Albert devoted much of his life to the study of plants, animals, minerals, and heavenly bodies in his desire to reconcile science and religion. St. Martin de Porres is the patron saint of interracial harmony, public health and education. He spent his entire life helping the poor, sick, and orphans, among others. Many miracles, specially of healing have been attributed to him.

Other developments

The University is going through its Operational Planning. New appointees have been identified by Rector and President Rev. Fr. Ernesto M. Arceo, OP. The complete line-up of administrators for the next school years will soon be issued.
