CBMA retains Intrams supremacy

The College of Business Management and Accountancy (CBMA) is the champion of the Intramurals for the third consecutive year as they edged out arch rival Polytechnic Institute (PI) in game points to clinch the top spot.

The champion college sealed their dominance, September 14, with a solid win against the Protons in a pre-closing basketball men finals game at the jampacked Aquinas University Dome.

The CBMA Asgards garnered 1056.3 game points, 235.05 points more than second placer PI Protons’ 821.25. The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education (CASE) Captains went up to the third spot from last year’s fourth place finish with 575 points. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) Smashers settled for the bottom spot with 450 points.

CNHS has the smallest student population in the University. CBMA has the highest.

The Asgards team dominated events in AUL Chess men, chess men and women, basketball men and women, badminton men, volleyball men and women, table tennis men and women, beach volleyball, football, scrabble, javelin, tennis men, all events in swimming men, and the freestyle and backstroke women’s swimming events.

The runner up Protons secured the events campus run relay men and women, javelin men, and shotput women. Majority of other points were from silver and bronze medal finishes in other events.

CASE Captains led in dart men and women, sepak takraw, shotput, and breaststroke and butterfly swimming women. CNHS dominated events in AUL Chess women, badminton women, discuss throw men and women, and tennis women.

The awarding ceremony followed after the basketball men finals at the Dome, where Wellness, Sports, and Fitness Center Director Aldin Soneja presented the certificates and trophies to the winners.
